Leader of the pack takes over HGTV

Shepherd's Watch/DogsAreEasy.com professional dog trainer Shawn Stewart and his canine partner Arah play a role in the new reality TV show "Leader of the Pack", airing this April on HGTV. Shawn works as the trainer to a household that takes on eight dogs of various ages and backgrounds in the effort to find the right dog for their home.

Shawn takes the family for a tour of their own house from a dog's perspective in an effort to "puppy proof" the family's home as well as safeguard it's newest members. Later in the show Shawn takes the family into their yard with Arah to show how time and patience in the training process pays off by demonstrating basic hand signals and verbal commands.

After the demonstration, the individual family members each pick one dog to compete in a training showdown earning the winner an "amnesty vote" for their dog. As each dog say's goodbye to their host family they will be welcomed into a new adoptive home leaving only one dog with the family... "The Leader of the Pack".
